The PISTIS project, a groundbreaking initiative for data sharing, recently marked a significant achievement at its 9th Plenary Meeting. Hosted on September 9–10, 2025, at the Unicorn startup and innovation hub in Graz, the two-day event brought partners together to showcase the progress of their Horizon Europe project.
The meeting’s highlight was the unveiling of the PISTIS Beta platform, alongside the three demonstrator hubs in Mobility and Urban Planning, Energy, and Automotive. This platform is designed to create a trusted and secure environment for organizations to share, trade, and even monetize their proprietary data. It’s a key step toward unlocking the true value of data-driven insights while ensuring controlled and fair exchange.
Beyond the platform’s showcase, the meeting’s second day focused on deep technical discussions covering a wide range of innovations, from GDPR compliance and FAIR data valuation to searchable encryption and NFT functionalities. These technical advancements are the building blocks that will ensure the platform is robust, secure, and user-friendly.
VIRTUAL VEHICLE, the host of this 2-day in person meeting, is the partner that leads the automotive demonstrator hub. This hub integrates diverse data sources—like connected vehicle data and weather information—to power a cloud-based hazard warning system. By analyzing a vehicle’s location and speed in real time, the system can issue timely alerts about potential road hazards, ultimately enhancing driver awareness and improving road safety.
The Graz meeting was a critical step forward, reinforcing the project’s mission to foster interoperable data sharing and paving the way for its next phase of development and impact.
